Recognizing the need for hands-on technical support, particularly during meat grinding and processing, Don Walton established a business focused on more than supplying products. His vision was to build lasting partnerships with processors by understanding their challenges and helping them find reliable, practical solutions.
In 1996, Don’s son, Brett Walton, joined the business through the acquisition of Holly Harned’s, expanding its product offerings and strengthening its service to the meat processing community. Following Don’s retirement in 2009, Brett became President and CEO in January 2010, continuing the family’s commitment to industry knowledge, product quality, and customer support.
In March 2012, Mid-Western Research & Supply officially became Walton’s, reflecting the company’s growth and its established family identity. The business continued to expand under the Walton family, with the third generation of ownership beginning in 2019 when Austin and Dylan Walton joined the ownership team. Austin serves as VP of Operations, while Dylan serves as VP of Sales, bringing new perspectives to a business built on decades of industry experience.
On April 26, 2025, Walton’s moved into a new 100,000-square-foot facility in Bel Aire, Kansas, marking another significant milestone in its growth. The expanded facility supports improved operations, logistics, and inventory capacity, helping the company serve the evolving needs of meat processors.
